A Humanising Education by Matthew Milburn

NATD stands for a humanising education which some find hard to define.

Drama encourages children to stand in the shoes of another, to see the world from a variety of stances, to work socially to understand both thought and feeling, indeed, it nurtures emotional intelligence, awareness and sensitivity.

The very top of the Conservative party has for years been dominated by politicians who, many would define as the brightest this nation has to offer. They are profoundly intelligent if you judge intelligence by having gained a first class degree from Oxford or Cambridge. Many have gone on to gain post graduate qualifications and successfully climbed the slippery pole. Yet of these profoundly clever people we've seen three different party leaders, four Chancellors and five Secretaries of State for Education in just over a year. We've also witnessed some appalling behaviour and decision making that has lacked humanity, emotional intelligence, even common sense.

Would this have happened had these highly "gifted and talented" individuals benefited from a humanising curriculum?
