“A remarkable production. A major achievement by writer Brian Woolland and definitely a must-see event.” Newsline
Palestine’s ASHTAR Theatre – who make impassioned theatre under the incredibly tough conditions of occupation – are once again our co-producers, with Artistic Director Iman Aoun (pictured) as Hecuba, and Bayan Shbib as Briseis, joining leading British actors including Andrew French as Achilles and Gerrard McArthur as Priam.
When Nobody Returns
Brian’s new play, WHEN NOBODY RETURNS, is an Odyssey to follow his Middle Eastern Iliad. In the wake of war, there are displaced people on the seas, soldiers carrying mental scars, and long-remembered scores that need to be settled.
The same cast perform both plays – in WHEN NOBODY RETURNS Iman Aoun is Penelope, Tariq Jordan is Telemakhos, and Andrew French is Odysseus. Both plays are directed by our Artistic Director Michael Walling.
This pair of immersive productions will transport audiences to the Middle East in a new found space at Acklam Market – just moments from Notting Hill. We can’t wait to welcome you there from October 21 to November 6!
You can enjoy each show on its own, or you can book to see both – either on separate days or as a weekend double bill – and save 30% on tickets (deducted at checkout). You can also book a delicious homemade Palestinian meal, enjoy our Middle Eastern bar after the show, and look forward to a series of talks on Palestinian theatre, art in conflict zones, and the refugee crisis – as we take over the Acklam Market space Border Crossings-style!
