“Dear Colleagues
As you know the April 16th deadline for responses to the draft national curriculum is rapidly approaching. This email contains some information you might find useful and two requests to join campaigns voicing concerns that the new curriculum is being rushed through without proper consultation and is not,
in its present form fit for purpose.
1. The following open letter is from Debra Kidd, the only practising teacher on the list of 100 academics who wrote to Michael Gove protesting at the narrowness of the current proposed curriculum. Debra’s letter is an invitation for teachers to join the academics in their protest. Her aim is gather 1,000 teacher signatures, so far over 300 have responded in two days.
If you would like to add your name to the letter please contact Debra through her website: Love Learning. You can read a copy of Debra’s letter by clicking here.
